Hesperia 2025 graduates, Andrew Sherburn, Ethan O’Neil, and Hayden Wright, and current seniors, Robert Frazier and Randy Hovey, were recently recognized as AP Scholars, having earned a score of 3 or higher on at least three AP exams. The College Board, the nonprofit organization that creates, manages, and audits AP curriculum, also recognized Robert as a National Rural and Small Town Awardee and a National First-Generation Awardee.
Advanced Placement courses provide motivated and academically prepared students the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, earn college credit or advanced placement, and stand out in college admissions. These students achieved successful scores in AP Computer Science, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, AP Seminar, and/or AP US History. AP is accepted by more than 3,600 colleges and universities worldwide for college credit. The value of three AP classes or nine credit hours is more than $4,500!
Ethan O’Neil is attending and playing basketball for Kirtland Community College and studying nursing. Andrew Sherburn is attending Grand Valley State University to pursue a business degree. Hayden Wright is attending Western Michigan University to pursue an engineering degree. Robert Frazier is a Hesperia senior and plans to pursue a civil engineering degree at Michigan Technological University. Randy Hovey is a Hesperia senior and plans to pursue a computer science degree at Muskegon Community College.
