A Weekly Middle School Update from Mrs. Ingell:
Parents and students,
Thank you for your patience and understanding this week as we are all getting used to a new PowerSchool management system! If you are returning to our school or joining us for the first time, we are excited to share a new year with all of you! With new systems, sometimes there are challenges that are encountered. We are diligently working on them and moving forward on progress everyday!
In middle school today, students went to all of their classes and met their teachers. I could see students smiling and enjoying their first day. We are working on clearing up any scheduling needs, lockers, and any other unforeseen issues this week. Please keep being patient and understanding as we continue moving forward!
Important Permission Slip for 6th through 8th graders:
Students came home with a permission slip for the 2025 Tech Showcase being held on September 16th at Grandville High School. Please be looking for this tonight, and return this signed by Friday, August 29th. Thank you so much!
Parents, we are looking forward to another successful year! We love having you on our team!
Mrs. Ingell

We’re excited to kick off the 25-26 school year together. Tomorrow (Monday, 8/25) will be a half day with dismissal at 11:20 am for all buildings.
We’ll be on a full-day schedule Tuesday–Thursday. As a reminder, there is no school Friday or Monday in observance of Labor Day.
We can’t wait to see everyone back in the halls—let’s make it a great year! 🐾💚

📢 Message from Superintendent Bryan Mey 📢
Hesperia Community Schools has been carefully studying our facilities and exploring ways to make improvements for students, staff, and the community. At the August 4 Board of Education meeting, the Board voted to place a bond proposal on the ballot for November 4, 2025.
If approved, the proposal would generate $11.7 million for district-wide improvements with NO expected tax rate increase over the current levy.
Key areas of focus include:
🔒 Safety & Security – Secure high school entrance, security film at entrances
🏫 Infrastructure – Roof, HVAC, ADA updates, parking lot reconstruction
🏟️ Athletics – Locker room renovations, new stadium entry, resurfaced track
📚 Learning Environments – Science lab upgrades, district-wide door replacements
You can read Mr. Mey’s full letter and find more details at www.HCSBond2025.com
.
🗳️ Election Day: November 4, 2025 | Polls open 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Absentee ballots available starting September 20.

Please join us in giving them a warm Panther welcome as they begin their journey with our students and community. 🐾💚

✅ Meet your teachers

✅ Enjoy a free dinner in the HS Media Center
We can’t wait to welcome all of our Panthers back for another great school year! 🐾💚

We understand that PowerSchool is new and may be a little tricky to navigate. However, to ensure your student has transportation on the first day of school, the Transportation Department must receive all transportation requests by the end of the day on Friday, August 15th.
This deadline allows us enough time to finalize routes and contact families with their Monday morning pick-up times — ensuring a safe, smooth start for all our students. Drivers will begin contacting families the week of August 18th with bussing information.
Requests submitted after August 15th will require a processing time of 3–5 days after the first day of school before transportation can begin.
If you have any questions or need help with your transportation request, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.
Thank you!
